Thank you for choosing Passmasters Rider Training LTD as your motorcycle training provider. When you commit to booking a course or test with us, you are agreeing to the policies set out in this document.

Reservations & Payment
Full payment is due at the time of booking. Payment made online using visa or mastercard is processed over a secure connection on secure servers. The technology employed to keep your payment card details safe is Secure Socket Layers (SSL). Payment card transactions are completed through the Buy point merchant facility, and we do not store or have access to your card details. SSL is the recognised worldwide standard for secure e-commerce transactions.
We currently use Windcave as our online payment provider for credit and debit card transactions.
Cancellation & Fees
General
At Passmasters Rider Training LTD, we understand that circumstances change, and you may need to alter your booking.
Please read our cancellations & refund policy carefully prior to making a booking.
All events are subject to a minimum number of riders and Passmasters Rider Training LTD reserves the right to change or cancel the dates If the minimum number is not reached.
If an event is cancelled or rescheduled by Passmasters Rider Training LTD, you will have the option to transfer to another course or request a full refund.
CBTA and Basic Handling Skills
We require More than 48 hours’ notice prior to the commencement of your course or the full amount of your course and booking fees are liable to forfeit.
- If you arrive more than 20 minutes late than the specified start time you will not be able to take your test and will forfeit 50% of the fee.
- Transfers to other dates will be accepted up until 24hrs prior to your course, however you will forfeit 50% of the original booking fee.
- Cancelations within 48hrs will forfeit 100% of the booking fee.
- If you arrive without a motorcycle having not pre-booked a rental bike, then you will forfeit 100% of the book fee.
Non-compliance:
- If you arrive on the day with an incorrect licence for the machine which you are riding or your machine Is not in a roadworthy condition, then you will not be able to take your assessment that day, unless we can rectify the issue Immediately. You will forfeit 50% of your fee.
Waiheke Island CBTA/ Basic Handling Skills
Our Waiheke Island courses are subject to a minimum number of riders and Passmasters Rider Training LTD reserves the right to change or cancel the dates If the minimum number is not reached. Due to the upfront cost involved to get over to Waiheke Island, we require more than 7 days notice for cancellations.
- More than 7 Days prior – 100% refund.
- Less than 7 days – no refund
Ride Forever funded courses
A Non-Refundable booking fee is required at the time of booking. ($50 or $20 depending on the course and current promotions). These courses have a retail value of up to $299, and your booking fee Is not the actual course fee but purely an administration fee. Ride forever courses are subsidised by ACC based on your attendance with the full retail value reflecting the true cost of delivery to the provider.
- Cancellation more than 7 days in advance – 100% of your booking fee will be lost. ($20 or $50)
- Cancellation within 7 days or No Show on the day – You will be required to pay up to $199 (In addition to your booking fee which you will forfeit) to help cover the cost of the course and instructor/s employed for the day. Once this course fee has been paid, this gives you the right to participate in any of the same type of course at a later date and we would encourage you to take up this opportunity.
Non-compliance:
- If you arrive on the day with an Incorrect licence for the machine which you are riding or your machine Is not in a roadworthy condition, then you will not be partaking in training that day and you will be required to pay up to $199 (in addition to your booking fee which you will forfeit) to help cover the cost of the course and instructor/s employed for the day.
Track Based Training Days
You are responsible for the prep of your bike. Please be advised that if your bike fails Inspection on the day then you will not be able to continue. No refund.

- More than 2 weeks prior – 100% refund.
- Less than 2 weeks and more than 1 week – 50% refund.
- Less than 1 week – No refund
Adverse Weather
All courses and training take place rain or shine. Courses may be rescheduled when severe conditions warrant, and we deem it to be unsafe.
Passmasters Rider Training LTD will inform the Customer prior to course commencement if this is the case.
Trainee Conduct
You are responsible for always acting in accordance with the directions and advice given to you by your instructor during your training sessions. You are also responsible for making sure that you are adequately dressed and protected for motorcycle riding. You are obliged to inform us of any physical condition or otherwise that could adversely affect safety or training. We expect you to be open to learning and feedback and treat our instructors / examiners with courtesy.
Dangerous riding and inappropriate speeding will not be tolerated. You will accept full responsibility for your actions. You must operate your motorcycle according to current legislation when riding on public roads.
The instructor retains the right to withdraw the Customer from the intended course or practical test if the instructor believes that the required standards of safety, courtesy or control will not or have not been achieved. Where applicable an alternative course may be substituted to enable the Customer to acquire the necessary level of competence. This is entirely at the discretion of the instructor.
The instructor has the right to halt or suspend training of a customer if he/she believes the Customer is incapacitated in any way through drink or drugs or fails to comply with instructions or safety standards.
Property and Equipment
Passmasters Rider Training LTD will supply the training motorcycle on selected courses. If a customer chooses to use their own machine for training purposes, it must be in roadworthy condition and comply with all current regulations and legislation, and if necessary, display the current regulation L-plate. Passmasters Rider Training LTD reserves the right to refuse to train a customer on their own machine if they deem the machine to be unsuitable for training purposes.
Passmasters Rider Training LTD accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage, for any reason, to any Customers personal property. Any damage caused to a customer’s own motorcycle whilst being used for training purposes is the responsibility of the Customer.
All equipment loaned free of charge or hired to the Customer by Passmasters Rider Training LTD must be treat it with care and respect. The hirer is liable for any loss of, or damage to, the vehicle and its accessories (excluding fair wear and tear) and any consequential damage, loss or costs incurred by the operator, including salvage costs.
