Common licensing questions
What riders ask before booking
Do I need motorcycle experience before learner training?
No. The two-hour learner option is designed for complete beginners. Riders with prior clutch-and-gear experience may suit a shorter session.
Is a motorcycle provided for the Basic Handling Skills Test?
Yes. A suitable training motorcycle is provided for the learner training and BHST options shown on this page.
Do I need my own bike for a CBTA assessment?
You need a suitable road-legal motorcycle. Hire motorcycles are available for selected assessments and locations, subject to requirements and availability.
Should I book training before my CBTA assessment?
Training is strongly worth considering when you are unsure about your readiness or want feedback on observation, positioning, control and assessment expectations.
