FAQ'S
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
To get your learner licence, you need to do two things, a practical test and a theory test.
You must be at least 16 years old to apply for your motorcycle learner licence.
WHERE ARE THEY HELD?
Our Basic Handling Skills courses are currently being held at Pukekohe, Hamilton, Manukau, Henderson and Tauranga.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON THE COURSE?
All our BHS courses are one to one, this makes it a relaxed and focused experience. We can handle groups so if you have a partner or a couple of mates who would like to do it with you then that can be arranged.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Pricing starts at $145 for 1hr, $199 for 1.5hr and $265 for the 2hr session which includes the use of one of our motorcycles, however you are more than welcome to use your own bike if you have one.
THE PRACTICAL:
The practical test is called the Basic Handling Skills test (BHS) which is what you will learn with your Passmasters instructor.
All our BHS are conducted on a 1-1 basis but we do have provision for 2 or 3 of you at the same time if you want to do it with a group of mates.
THE THEORY:
Once you have passed the practical test you will be given a certificate to take down to your nearest VTNZ/AA centre to sit your theory test. For online mock theory tests see online at
WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Give Passmasters a call, and we can arrange a time and location for you to do your Basic Handling Skills test or book via the booking engine – see button at the bottom of this page.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Your driver’s licence or passport/photo ID. Long pants/jeans, enclosed footwear, sweatshirt/jacket, waterproof clothing depending on the weather. Helmet and gloves if you have your own and prefer to use them, otherwise we will provide these for you.
