TRACK
Track Coaching Day – Hampton Downs
Here at Passmasters, we love playing on the track. If you’ve ever wanted to push your riding skills a little further in a safe, controlled environment — this is your ticket.
Our Track Coaching Day is all about learning, not racing. You’ll get expert coaching from some of the most passionate riders in NZ, with plenty of tips to refine your braking, cornering, body position, and bike dynamics.
Why Hampton Downs?
Because it’s one of NZ’s premier race circuits, right here in the North Waikato. The club track is 1.3 km of pure learning potential — perfect for building confidence without the chaos of a full race day.
You’ll need:
-
A couple of years’ road riding experience (no prior track experience needed)
-
Full-face helmet, proper riding gear (leathers or textiles with ¾ zip), gloves, boots
-
A roadworthy bike with good tyres and no leaks (mirrors taped or removed)
And just so we’re clear — this isn’t an open track day. It’s a fun, skill-focused coaching session with zero ego and maximum learning.
SLOW SKILLS
Slow Speed Skills – Taming the Beast
Big bike. Tight space. Wobbly rider. We’ve all been there. That’s why we created our Slow Speed Skills Course — to give you the confidence and control to handle your machine like a pro at walking pace.
Since 2017, we’ve helped riders turn awkward U-turns and parking-lot panic into smooth, controlled moves. We start you off on smaller training bikes (yes, our trusty GSX’s are standing by) so you can nail the basics before tackling it on your own pride and joy.
The skills we drill:
-
Offset cone weave
-
Tight 90-degree turns
-
The legendary “Dizzy”
-
Precision braking in confined spaces
It’s all inspired by the New Zealand Police Motorcycle course — but with way more laughs and no speeding tickets. By the end of the 3.5-hour course, you’ll be gliding through tight manoeuvres like it’s second nature.
BASIC MAINTENANCE
Basic Bike Maintenance – Wrench Like a Boss
Not everyone wants to be a full-time mechanic, but knowing how to keep your bike in top shape? That’s priceless. Our Basic Bike Maintenance Course is 3.5 hours of hands-on learning, designed to give you the skills to look after your motorcycle without needing a workshop full of fancy tools.
What we cover:
-
Checking tyre condition & pressures
-
Adjusting and lubing your chain
-
Changing oil and filters
-
Brake checks and bleeding
-
Common fault finding
-
What to do if you break down
-
Looking after your riding gear
This isn’t a sit-back-and-listen lecture — you’ll be getting your hands dirty, learning by doing, and leaving with the confidence to tackle everyday maintenance tasks yourself.
MOTOMED
MotoMed – Crash Scene & Rider Response
If you were first on the scene of a motorcycle crash, would you know what to do?
Who is most at risk? How do you protect the area? Should you remove a rider’s helmet?
The first few moments after an accident are critical. The right actions can minimise injuries, protect others, and make a real difference to the outcome. Yet, in New Zealand’s unique riding environments, it’s not always clear what the “right” thing to do is.
MotoMed is a one-day course, run by riders for riders, that removes this uncertainty. Delivered by current frontline paramedics, it equips motorcyclists of all ages and experience with the confidence to respond effectively if the worst happens.
What’s included:
-
Crash Scene Management – how to alert emergency services, protect the area, and safeguard others.
-
Rider Care – motorcycle-specific guidance on CPR, airway management, and safe helmet removal.
-
Hands-On Scenarios – practice using real gear and helmets, learning how to cut and remove riding kit safely.
-
Post-Incident Wellbeing – tools and advice for managing the mental impact after a crash.
Course details:
-
Duration: 1 day
-
Who it’s for: All motorcyclists, regardless of age or riding experience
-
Includes: Tea, coffee, snacks, and lunch
By the end of MotoMed, you’ll have practical, hands-on knowledge that helps you stay calm, take control, and support others in those critical moments after a crash.
